This week has been very productive, and also stagnant at the same time. Hailee and I are technically in the same state we were before. Planning. We have finished plans for Tia's Dream Day. We have communicated with her mother, and she is very excited as well! Currently, she will be the first Dream Day we have. November 11th, Tia and her family will get to go to the Indianapolis Museum and watch a dolphin show. While we have all of the plans in place, we cannot purchase her tickets just yet because we must first talk with the district accountant to assure we purchase everything appropriately with the grant money. In addition to planning Tia's Day we are also looking to host a "Thank You" dinner for the students who run the teacher coffee stand.

This year's Project Dream Day was all made possible by Taylor Dickerson and Lauren Wiggins, NPHS students who started the project during the 2016-17 school year. However, both founders graduated last year and now Hailee Holberton and myself run Project Dream Day.
A lot has happened during the beginning of our project. This Tuesday I had a pre-project crisis at 10:45, and the crisis was resolved by 10:48, clearly an emotional roller coaster. So far, we have received a $1,000 grant from Learn To Give that will serve to fund our Dream Days. In addition to receiving a grant, we have also sent home parent permission slips along with interests forms. These interests forms help Hailee and I plan a specialized Dream Day for students. Several of these forms have been turned back in and now we are starting the planning process. Feedback so far has all been very positive and we are looking forward to watching this program grow in the near future. |
